Ponds

Roger Camarena and Doug Cook will be taking care of the pond.  It has been emptied and will be cleaned soon.

Things are coming together.  The club will be established soon.  Students will come to learn.

Hard work

Rain or shine

Rain or shine, these girls show up.

The herb garden is cleared.  The shed is cleaned.  Killed a few scorpions.
All is well at the garden.

Garden Art

This seems like a good place for garden art. It is in a focal spot in the garden and it is screaming for something other than plants.

I have been looking for ideas.  Found some here and here. And let's not forget Pinterest.

Ready for plot preparation

Francisco, one of the men that works the Corona grounds, stops by and after a few Holas we resume the conversation in English and discuss the progress in the garden.

He brought the tractor and cleared

this area of grass

into this beautiful and full of possibilities vegetable planting area.

Now I start the planning for Fall growing.

Paving

The bricks in the recycling pile are being put to use.  These will change the look of the greenhouse's front door.

Doug and I dug a little, leveled the area and started putting the bricks down. Nothing fancy.  We like the rustic look.

The small things

When one spends time tending a place, one knows the small things in said place.  Corona Grows has many beautiful small things that I watch and admire each time I visit.

This plant whose name I don't yet know promises to climb up the greenhouse side.

These pretties are doing well with regular watering.

Yellow like sunshine.  So tall and eye catching.  I love touching them when I work on the north side of the garden.
This garden has many nooks and crannies, habitats of sorts.  It is perfect for those needing variety.

Inside the greenhouse

After a first round of cleaning.  Soon it gets another visit from the fairy godmothers with their garden gloves and trash bags.

Please sit down

The tired and sweaty workers needed a few chairs to sit in during the water breaks and resting moments.

Julia used an existing chair frame and set out to use her scraps of wood and added the seat.

And I had been keeping an eye out for sales at Target.  These blue beauties came home with me recently.
I think we are going with blue.

Ruellia

This hardy plant borders the east door of the greenhouse.
It's adds color and texture to that part of the garden.
